Children's Day 2022: Reminiscing on ‘when we were young'

Parents listen to your children      (children)
We are the leaders of tomorrow (tomorrow)
Try to pay our school fees
And give us the best education (education)
Happy Children's day to all of us including our mummies and daddies.
We're all children of someone. I don't know how long the generation goes but it's really long and down to every grandparent, greatgrandparent and greatgreatgreatgreat (keep going), everybody has a father and mother. It's the law of nature- people do not fall from the skies, there's a certain ritual that is performed to form babies in the womb but who knows about that? Maybe I'll find out when it's time for me to be a parent πŸ€”
Being a child is a very special and essential part of being human or being a human being. It is at this time we make honest mistakes we don't regret because we'll probably forget most of them. At this stage we have the realest love, find playmates who may later turn to friends. It's also at this stage we're groomed to be future ‘leaders of tomorrow', even though we only get to find out how hard it is to be a young leader with all our grandparents refusing to die and occupying positions rightly meant for us when we grow up πŸ˜ͺ phew!
Child-like; I've always loved to hear people say I have a childlike spirit. Being childlike implies innocence, raw beauty, happiness for no particular reason, open inquisitiveness and playfulness.
I have so many fond memories from when I was a child. I remember being a fashionista, finding a way to attach ribbons to any hairdos even ‘pineapple rubber' πŸ˜… I later bagged the social prefect position in primary 6 though, so I guess that worked out pretty well for me.
We all had different experiences as little children but one that was similar for all of us was our innocence. I remember when I wanted to make my mum happy and I took a blue pen and designed her milk handbag with her name in really bold letters; Elizabeth Ngunan Naze. I remember how she held back from giving me the beating of my life. She didn't even shout but I could see the anger on her face. She just took me outside to the veranda and gave me a sponge, soap and water to wash it off. Lol, I saw this bag a few years back and I could still see my handiwork πŸ˜…
It takes a lot of patience to raise little children, I know this because I have a younger sister I'm older than with 12 years, she'll be 10 this year and I'm a whooping 21 (exhales). From bathing them, brushing them, listening to their bickering, attending to their tears and innocent cravings, washing their mess and more, raising children can be a really serious job requiring plenty pay, but our parents did this without pay. They accepted these responsibilities and one day soon, 21 year old, child-like Sewuese would have mothering roles too.
‘Parents listen to your children, we are the leaders of tomorrow, try to pay our school fees and give us the best education'.
LISTEN to your children, pay attention to their physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological and mental needs. Watch your children when they're not watching and find out things about them. Be good to your children and make yourself a safe place for them. Protect them and defend them but also teach them the basics of life.
It's Children's Day but children are nothing without parents. Love your children and give them your best.

Happy Children's Day to me 😭 I need biscuits and candies, I also need new dresses and shoes. It's really hard being an adult, I can't believe how many things I've had to do by myself including going to a doctor alone when I'm sick πŸ˜’ my daddy did that so effortlessly with us and I didn't think one day I'll have to do it alone. Adulthood is really unfair, it's like being handed exams you weren't even prepared for... no classes, notes, just plenty paper with hard questions.

New blog post: teeny facts ‘or not’ about this writer. Heyyy, long time no see. How are you holding up? I have to say the cold in this place is turning me to a jelly in a jar. Okay, hollup, seems like I’m deviating. Lol, guess that’s one fact or not about me…I love to talk. Let’s move to the basics. Maybe you’re wondering why I had to do this. I know, it’s not like I’m one celebrity or something but I’m your favourite writer (yeah, I heard you say so). Who knows, I may be one in two years from now or less cos why do I have you? Push me push me so I can have lots of money for giveaways πŸ™ƒ My name is Naze Salome Sewuese. Other names are Kristin, and of course, baby πŸ˜…. I’m a female woman (have to be real specific there). I come from a family of seven. My dad is an auditor and my mum is a teacher and a caterer and they both run a poultry house. I’m the second out of five girls. Dare to dream- you are more than the figure you see in the mirror.

In one episode of Young Sheldon, Sheldon asked the librarian what her religion was because he was learning about different religions in order to find the one he liked better. She said her religion teaches that when people die they go their own planets but women have to go to their husband's planet, except her because she's single.    In all 23 years of my life, I have battled with people's different beliefs in relation to love, respect and ambitions. It's been a tough and conflicting battle on what to belief as right or not. I have made my own assumptions and research based on what I've been taught intentionally and I believe at this point, I have the right standing.     The argument about God's intention when he took a rib out of man to create woman is one that can put one's brain in a turmoil. Did God mean for a woman to only be a helpmate and not have her own identity? Did he instruct Adam to be fruitful, multiply and subdue the earth by himself?   ...

MY CAMP SERIES: EPISODE 2 (Wise kind man)

Does it really pay to be patient? Or do we just have to be smart enough to know when to abide by the saying?     As the popular saying goes, “the patient dog eats the fattest bone“. Although nowadays when someone quotes it, another person replies, “patient dog don get ulcer” and everyone begins to laugh. Fetching water this afternoon during our free time before lunch, we had a long line of buckets with people waiting to get water to take their baths, wash their clothes, e.t.c,. Sitting with my first camp friend, we discussed a lot of things in a bid to pass time before our turn. Everybody's been so kind to everybody here, as if we're all eager to make new friends. Anyways, this other pretty girl comes with her buckets and expresses shock as she sees the number of people already waiting. Following the chatty trend, people begin to laugh and give her unnecessary/witty advice. One gist leads to the another and she joins the conversation with I and my friend. Somehow during t...
