Vibes and blood of Jesus

You're entitled to your own beliefs and ideologies. You have the right to speech, right to freedom of expression, right to life and so on. The only thing I am saying on behalf of so many other people is, do not abuse these rights
Why am I bringing this up?
Lately, it's been bugging my mind how I have to walk the face of this earth and meet/interact with people who have barbaric beliefs and values. It's hit me so hard and I've been dreading another one-on-one face-off with one of such people.
It's no big deal that we all do not like soft bread, I mean, I understand how a normal human being can refuse to eat soft bread and freshly prepared beans. What I cannot understand is how some people refuse to allow themselves be HUMAN BEINGS with feelings. No feeling of anguish, no feeling of sympathy or empathy, no feeling of PITY! It's really disheartening.
For so many weeks now, I've juggled a lot of ways to put my thoughts on this out and after the news of the death of Ifeanyi Adeleke broke out, I knew it was time.
I do not know the Adeleke's; their lives off social media and all that, but I know that Ifeanyi was the 3 year old son of popular singer, Davido. From videos, I saw how bubbly and full of life he was. Even if you don't follow Davido, you must have heard that this child had his 3rd birthday just a few days ago. How can a normal person know all these and still come out to say it's Davido's luck? Wait, how can you not even console the family first before moving on to say something like that? How can you even say this for the whole world to hear, and not in a closed place where just a few people with your barbaric beliefs can hear you?
Another instance: the other day on social media AGAIN, somebody posted on the female menstrual cycle and asked that, “how can you be experiencing experiencing and experiencing something and still not get used to it?”he was talking about menstrual cramps and how girls pretend to be in pain everytime just to get male attention. How do I even know such a person?
In all your getting, get wisdom. Wisdom in this case, is the ability to discern sense from nonsense before sharing it. Why allow your time on earth be termed ‘useless’ when you can open your eyes and heart to see, feel and understand that we're all humans for a reason? Like I said, it's normal for humans to disagree, because of course, we do not have the same social and moral upbringings, but one thing I know is a common factor for all humans is FEELINGS. Try to put yourself in the shoes of others. Not even that first, try to weigh situations. Think of how your words can affect the people it's directed at.
As you gain academic and other honorary certificates, do not neglect the biggest certificate which is the certificate of HUMANITY.
Dear you who's come across this and have also been juggling these feelings, do not let words pull you down. Do not argue for long with people you've found to have barbaric beliefs. Most importantly, if it can be helped, do not agree to stay in the same environment with such people because they're toxic and they'll eventually rub off on you if you're not strong enough.

A Year of Service, A Lifetime of Lessons

Service, friendship, growth They say life is in stages- I agree. But if I hadn’t passed through the challenges that came with NYSC and made it to this point, I’d probably still be in comatose, asking God “Why me?” Before graduation, my friends; Lucy, Kyen, Melody, and I, discussed where we’d love to be posted for service. We’d done the entire four (technically six) years of university together, so it only made sense to plan to do life after school together, or at least close enough. We compared dreams, and they basically aligned. Little did we know. You know, when you’re in a particular stage of life and preparing for its end, the only logical thing to do is to dream of better, to stay optimistic, because faith, among other things, teaches us to believe that there’s always better ahead. Camp was the experience. I’d attended boarding school and even gone to camp as a junior cadet back in secondary school. I remember an endurance trek we went on one morning that nearly rendered my legs i...

Dare to dream- you are more than the figure you see in the mirror.

In one episode of Young Sheldon, Sheldon asked the librarian what her religion was because he was learning about different religions in order to find the one he liked better. She said her religion teaches that when people die they go their own planets but women have to go to their husband's planet, except her because she's single.    In all 23 years of my life, I have battled with people's different beliefs in relation to love, respect and ambitions. It's been a tough and conflicting battle on what to belief as right or not. I have made my own assumptions and research based on what I've been taught intentionally and I believe at this point, I have the right standing.     The argument about God's intention when he took a rib out of man to create woman is one that can put one's brain in a turmoil. Did God mean for a woman to only be a helpmate and not have her own identity? Did he instruct Adam to be fruitful, multiply and subdue the earth by himself?   ...
